Born in Ragnall, Di was riding a motorbike at 6 years old which was just one of the many slightly 'left field' things that Di's dad taught her to do. He also taught her to be independent and to do her own thing. This early influence has had a marked effect on Di's career, which started off as an apprenticed upholsterer, then on to being an administrator and leading to 2 years living and working in Germany. On her return to the UK, Di ended up in Swindon and with a job in IT. From there she moved to Milton Keynes working for another major blue-chip company in IT, then later on, moving in to Facilities Management.
In 2001 Di finally called it a day on being an employee and followed her dream of being a photographer, earning an excellent reputation for PR and commercial photography.
2007 saw Di relocate back to North Notts to live with her childhood sweetheart. New location, new opportunity, so Di followed another dream, to enter the world of wildlife conservation. During this time, Di came across Totally Locally Retford and Retford Business Forum and became active with various campaigns.
The networking bug had bitten, and when Di had finally defined a suitable niche for her experience and expertise, The Photo Den CIC was formally created in 2015 and has been her life ever since.
Apart from her Photo Den mission and business, Di loves spending time with her Springer Spaniel Colin, supporting her partner Jeff with his unique motorbike design and build projects, and the occasional classic bike track day.

AWARDS CEREMONY HOST
Mayah started her first business at the age of 16, where seh started a hand crafted greeting card and wedding stationery by accident, whilst studying business at college. I then went to university in Bristol to pursue dreams of primary teaching, which were never meant to be (and in the words of Steve Jobs by joining the dots looking back, now I know why!).
Being a feisty 20-something year old, Mayah decided to launch her own magazine, with no money, experience or contacts within the industry. You can see a behind the scenes video of the magazine’s cover shoot filmed by Fashion TV clicking here and also here.
From there, Mayah was head hunted by a TV station to work on their various campaigns. Whilst there, Mayah went on to explore the world of PR and social media. This led her to work with former Dragon’s Den star James Caan on his social media advisory team, click here.
Whilst working with James, Mayah launched her own PR and Celebrity Management agency looking after some well known personalities from the world of showbiz, TV and business.
With James being her first client, Mayah quickly launched her company. With having James Caan as her client, she was approached by numerous BBC’s The Apprentice candidates and did their PR. From this, it led to her taking on more and more well-known clients. She expanded her services to offering Management too.
Fast forward 10 years, Mayah now runs a successful PR and Celebrity Management agency, looking after the reputation of some of the top names in the world of business, TV and showbiz. She has never had a website nor paid for any marketing yet her agency has a waiting list of clients. Mayah is very careful in who she represents and puts in the limelight. Therefore, when she refused to represent Kerry Katona, it saw her agency not only gaining more clients, but it received massive publicity.
Leaving a strong team of 8 to run the agency, Mayah has now moved to Nottingham to set up her Lightbulb PR. A PR agency where she teaches start ups and small businesses on how to make their business famous and how to do their own PR.
