North Notts BC Official Artistic Director and Digital Tech PartnerDi FisherBorn in Ragnall, Di was riding a motorbike at 6 years old which was just one of the many slightly 'left field' things that Di's dad taught her to do. He also taught her to be independent and to do her own thing. This early influence has had a marked effect on Di's career, which started off as an apprenticed upholsterer, then on to being an administrator and leading to 2 years living and working in Germany. On her return to the UK, Di ended up in Swindon and with a job in IT. From there she moved to Milton Keynes working for another major blue-chip company in IT, then later on, moving in to Facilities Management.
In 2001 Di finally called it a day on being an employee and followed her dream of being a photographer, earning an excellent reputation for PR and commercial photography. 2007 saw Di relocate back to North Notts to live with her childhood sweetheart. New location, new opportunity, so Di followed another dream, to enter the world of wildlife conservation. During this time, Di came across Totally Locally Retford and Retford Business Forum and became active with various campaigns. The networking bug had bitten, and when Di had finally defined a suitable niche for her experience and expertise, The Photo Den CIC was formally created in 2015 and has been her life ever since. Apart from her Photo Den mission and business, Di loves spending time with her Springer Spaniel Colin, supporting her partner Jeff with his unique motorbike design and build projects, and the occasional classic bike track day. |

Janie has always had a love for photography! Fascinated by photos from being a child, whether it be historical images from the dawn of the era onwards, or other people's snaps of holidays and family! It was perhaps a natural progression then, when in 2010 she started making pictures herself and began a whole new journey! Adult learning courses at Idle Valley through North Notts and Rotherham College enabled Janie to move forward in her chosen creative field and then, after several years being a returning learner, she started her own business!
These days most of Janie's time and energy goes into running a photography group for adult learners which is very rewarding! She says she feels like the luckiest woman alive to be able to do this. She loves taking people's portraits in the street or in the studio and product photography is an ongoing passion but for the most part, she just loves photographing anything and everything...if it stands still long enough, she will snap it and sometimes even when it won't stand still...her motto is 'finding beauty in everything'! She says "Beauty is everywhere, all around us, we just need the ability to truly 'see'!" Born and bred in Retford she has a genuine love for her town, it's people and the surrounding area.
